  • UK Learning Route (Tire-4) allows students to work up to 20 hours a week, only if the student is studying at a graduate level and above.
  • Full-time employment is permitted only during the holidays.

Need for a UK Study Visa (Visa)

To obtain a UK Student Visa i.e. Tier 4 (General) Student Visa, students must comply with government eligibility requirements which include

  • Certification of Accreditation of Courses (CAS) from the relevant university.
  • Proof of tuition fees and monthly living expenses.
  • English language skills
  • Students also need to pay an additional health fee to access the UK National Health Service.

Post Study permit in the UK

According to a recent review by the British Council, from 1 Jul’21 international students who have completed UG or master’s degrees will be granted a two-year postgraduate work permit, and a PhD graduate may stay for three years after graduation.


Eligibility for the Graduation Route

  • An international student must have a valid student visa when applying for a Graduate Route.
  • The Graduation Route requires a new visa application.
  • International students should be aware of the Confirmation Acceptance for Studies (CAS) used for Student application i.e. Tier 4 to apply for the Graduate Route.
